플리트우드 맥, 피터 그린(기타), 믹 플리트우드(드럼), 제레미 스펜서(기타, 베이스)가 1967년 런던에서 결성한 그룹이다. 이후 존 맥비(베이스)와 크리스틴 맥비(키보드, 보컬)이 가담하고, 피터 그린과 제레미 스펜서 탈퇴 후 린지 버킹엄(기타, 프로듀싱)과 스티브 닉스가 가담하면서 폭발적 인기를 누리게 된다. 플리트우드 맥은 피터 그린 주도의 시기에는 블루스 록을 구사한 그룹이었어나, 버킹엄과 닉스의 가담 후 블루스 록 계열에서 벗어났다. 대신에 엄청난 대중적 확장력을 갖게 된 것!
피터 그린은 심한 정신 분열증으로 플리트우드 맥 탈퇴 후 원할한 활동을 이어가지 못했다. 1968 공연에는 폴 버터필트가 특별 출연했다. The Other Tango In The Nights 는 탱고 앨범 스튜드이오 세션 중 음반화되지 않은 것들로 구성되어 있어 해당 앨범과 비교해 들어보면 흥미롭다.
